Tribute to Comas Montgomery

Comas Montgomery, father to Carl and Charlie Montgomery, was the founder of Comas Montgomery Realty and Auction Co., Inc., which has been in business since 1973. Prior to being in the real estate and auction business he owned Montgomery's Market and was one of the founders of Citizen Central Bank. He served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was also inducted into the Tennessee Auctioneers Hall of Fame. Comas was past President of The Tennessee Auctioneers Association and Middle Tennessee Association of Realtors. He had been in the real estate/auction business for over 31 years. Along with gaining the prestigious designations of GRI and CAI, Comas received the Million Dollar Sales Award in 1976, was president of the Rutherford Co. Board of Realtors in 1983, and president of RCAR MLS Inc. in 1992. From 1994 to 1996 Comas served on the Tennessee Auction Association Board of Directors and from 1996 to 1997 was president of the TAA and in 1997 was co-chairman of the National Auctioneers Convention in Nashville Tennessee. Comas was inducted into the Tennessee Auctioneer's Hall of Fame in 2004. Comas resided in Rutherford County, Tennessee for over 65 years where he was always an active member in the community.
